Review & Giveaway: Four Pretty Please Press Books(closed)

*Contest Is Closed*
Looking for something new and fun for your kids to read? Pretty Please Press has four books that are great for the younger readers. Founded in 2001 by author Laura Aimee Garn, Pretty Please Press publishes books that have important messages for young children. I had a chance to review these books and share them with my children. My 8 year old found the books to be interesting and easy to read. Here are the four books that I received :

Bella Basset Ballerina by Laura Aimee Garn

A story about perseverance and dedicating ones self to pursue their dreams. Bella Basset wants to become a ballerina, however in this story only Borzois are dancers. It is fun to read and discover how Bella overcomes her obstacles in this great story for tots.

The Scritchy Little Twitchell Sisters by Laura Aimee Garn

In this book the Twitchell sisters argue about everything and make their household a very unpleasant place to be. After a Vaudville Producer comes around and "discovers" the Twitchell sisters, they make a career out of their fighting and arguing which causes them to appreciate each other more and look at their causes for arguing with humor.

Kick Block Punch by Jacquie Hann
A story about a boy very anxious to receive his black belt in karate. He does not realize all of the steps he will need to take before he can earn his black belt. With the help of karate teacher he learns the skills to be patient and practices hard so he can overcome his challenges.

Pynx by Jeffrey Greene

Pynx is a story about a learning to accept differences and learning to communicate better with others. As Pynx settles into a new neighborhood, her neighbors find her too noisey and become very upset with her. Pynx then has many children which greatly disturbs the rest of her neighbors. My children enjoyed this story very much and couldn't wait to find out how Pynx solves her problems with her neighbors.

The lessons of diversity & acceptance need to be taught at an early age and I think Jeffrey Greene's Pynx sounds like the perfect way to introduce these subjects to little ones.

Sounds like some good reads and with a positive underlying message to go with it.

Pynx looks like my favorite-- Communication is sometimes so hard to do.

I would love the Basset book. Our family has fond memories of many bassetts. (Stella, Sophie, Sam, Ethan, Savannah, I'm talking about you.) This would be a big hit with my nephew.
